The hard problems rarely respect the organization chart.

The same condition appeared in different forms across years of operating work: each function could explain its own part while no one could establish how the whole became the picture management relied on.

The range was built inside the work itself—directing operations in automation, security, and software development; carrying operations and product responsibility across finance, people, systems, and engineering teams; and working directly in QuickBooks Online, bookkeeping, reconciliation, and management reporting.

Accounting could establish its records, operations could explain its work, and software could demonstrate that it functioned—while management was still left without one defensible account of the business.
